About The Podcast

I have served as co-host of the successful podcast, Moving Histories, since December 2023, which is when we launched.  My co-hosts, Professor Kim Nelson, at The University of Windsor, and Dr John Trafton, who teaches at Occidental College, are close friends and collaborators, and together we have published fifteen episodes, as of January 2025.  Moving Histories focuses on contemporary historical films and miniseries, works that engage the past in a powerful, emotional, and illuminating way.  Although most episodes feature the thee co-hosts, we have also conducted several interviews, among them two of the writers of Shogun, Maegan Houang and Caillin Puente; the producer of Masters of the Air, Kirk Saduski; the director of Franklin, Tim Van Patten and two historians, Don Miller on Masters of the Air, a mini-series based on his book, and the Japanese film scholar Aaron Gerow, at Yale University, on Shogun.  Our top episodes so far include The Zone of Interest, Oppenheimer, A Complete Unknown, and The White House Plumbers.  The podcast series has an international reach, typically, our podcasts are downloaded in fifteen countries.

Our show can be accessed at Apple Podcasts, and at Spotify Podcasts.  The show can also be accessed via our website, https://movinghistories.com/podcast.
